The chance of getting one of the typical “traveler illnesses” is very slight as drinking water throughout the country is excellent and food hygiene is good.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has no legal requirements for vaccination before entering the country. In cities, there is a large number of pharmacies (Bos. apoteka) and usually at least one is open 24 hours. Pharmacies are usually stocked with commonly prescribed drugs, in villages and small towns, you will not be able to find a pharmacy, and if you do it is questionable if they will have what you are looking for.

There is a large number of health centers and hospitals, as well as exceptional emergency medical personnel in most cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina. If you are in need of medical assistance, it is advisable to contact your embassy, because they have a list of recommended doctors..
